Shriram Life Insurance, incorporated in 2005, is the Insurance joint venture between the Shriram Group and Sanlam financial services group headquartered at South Africa, which provides a complete range of life insurance solutions to customers, and corporate clients. Shriram Group is an Indian conglomerate headquartered in Chennai.
R. Thyagarajan, AVS Raja and T. Jayaraman founded it on 5 April 1974.
The group had its beginning in chit funds business and later on entered the lending and insurance businesses.
